Daddy, Are We There Yet?

May 2, 2010 – 5:20 pm

It would be easy enough for me to say, “Your guess is as good as mine!”  Even Jesus doesn’t know the exact time of His Return (Matt 24:36Matt 24:36
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

).  Matthew, Chapter 24, among other Scriptures, has Jesus describing in great detail what we should expect to occur throughout the world prior to His Return.

Each of us should make ourselves aware of the “Signs” forecasting His Return.  I could give you the many Books, Chapters and verses giving these descriptions, however, Salvation is the most personal happening in one’s life.  For that reason, I strongly urge you to obtain a Concordance or any other recognized Biblical Dictionary, etc.  Biblical search engines found on the Internet are often effective, however, be very careful regarding the websites you may involve yourself with.  Concordances, Biblical Dictionaries, etc. can be purchased at bookstores, either secular or Christian.  Also check your Church Library and just keep in mind, “Seek and ye shall find.” (Matt 7:7Matt 7:7
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Most of us have heard the  numerous descriptions regarding the “End Times.”  So I will not take you through the numerous references within God’s Holy Word.  However, again, I do strongly recommend that you research on your own these pertinent facts and descriptions of what we are to look for and expect in the coming times within this world.

Today, though, given the things currently taking place in this world, let us focus on how these things affect our lives.  The economy is hurting many of us.  Some of us have lost our jobs, forced to file bankruptcy, as well as, our homes are either in foreclosure or we’ve already been evicted.  Many have had to take their kids out of college and make other dramatic lifestyle changes for them and their families.  Praise God, many still have their jobs and maybe the worst (and this could certainly take its toll in years to come) is that their retirement fund has been negatively impacted.  There are few who have not felt the economic decline in America, not to mention, the world in one way or another.

Do we run, do we try to hide – what is it we are supposed to do in these difficult times?  Our government tells us that “change” is coming!  Is that good or bad change?  Daily we hear of wars and rumors of wars, “natural” catastrophes, celestial bodies aligning in the universe, people suffering and dying from starvation, famine and flooding.  It goes on and on!  Now we hear of what is categorized to be, possibly, the worst oil spill in history.  I live on the Gulf Coast.  I’m seeing the enormous effect not only on people and their jobs, but God’s precious Creations in nature.  Is it ever going to stop?!!  Yes!!!  It is going to stop.  When?  That’s only for God to Know.

Why is He Dragging it out?  It’s to try to save the many “lost sheep” of this world (Luke 19:10Luke 19:10
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

WP-Bible plugin
).  He is going to make sure that EVERY lost sheep that is willing will be brought back into the “fold.”  Often we, in the United States, become myopic, and feel God is only concerned about those of us who live just in America.  Nothing is further from the truth.  He Longs for ALL lost sheep to return to the fold.  He gave the world to Adam and Eve, along with free will.  They committed the first sin on this earth.  God is Perfect is His Actions and His Will.  If He Gives something to someone, he doesn’t usually take it right back if they don’t use it correctly each and every time.  He Wants us to learn of our inherent “goodness” placed within each of us upon our birth into this world (Genesis 2:7Genesis 2:7
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. of the dust...: Heb. dust of the ground

So what do we do with all the “unknowns” and “doubts” that exist within this turmoil we currently define as life?  Actually, it is simple enough – it is called “choices.”  Hey, we make choices everyday, right?  Wait a second, all of the complicated issues in our lives and here this “bozo” says it is really very simple!  Unfortunately, all too many of us do look at it as being pretty simple on a day-to-day basis.  Maybe in the short run most choices seem simple to make or not make, but taken over a life-time it is pretty scarey stuff.

We’ve discussed repeatedly as to who rules the earth and the air – Satan (Ephesians 2:1-5Ephesians 2:1-5
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

2 1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. desires: Gr. wills 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, by...: or, by whose grace

).  As well, we’ve discussed living in the world, but not being part of the “world.” (Romans 12:2Romans 12:2
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

; John 17:16John 17:16

).  To be subject to the world (Satan) is to live a life of “maybe and what if.”  Maybe this will happen.  What if this or that happens?  The world is not intended to “benefit” the people that live and exist in it.  No, the world was given over to Satan in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:6Genesis 3:6
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. pleasant: Heb. a desire

English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. wonder: or, sign 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Satan uses every device within this world which is filled with lust, temptation and self-centered desire to tempt and prod each of those who have chosen to or allowed themselves to become part of the world.  So, in his hate for God, Satan uses his guile and temporal persuasiveness to help make those who have committed their lives “to the world and its material things,” to be convicted eternally of their many sins.  These, tragically, are the sheep that will never be able to return to the fold.

However, those who live in the world, but are not part of the world or maybe better said: “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on things of the flesh, but those who live according to The Spirit…” the Things of The Spirit (Romans 8:1-19Romans 8:1-19
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

8 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: for sin: or, by a sacrifice for sin 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. to be carnally...: Gr. the minding of the flesh to be spiritually...: Gr. the minding of the Spirit 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. the carnal...: Gr. the minding of the flesh 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. by: or, because of 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

) and with the Spirit living WITHIN them shall let each of them know life Eternal where there is no pain nor tears, but joy and life Eternal with our Lord (Revelation 7:13-17Revelation 7:13-17
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Therefore, if we refute Satan and his world of material lusts and desires, then we will have chosen NOT to live a life of  “maybes and what ifs.”  Then what should we expect if we make our conscious choice to live within God’s Will and His Holy Spirit’s Comforting and Guidance?

We should know that Jesus will live moment to moment in each and every day within our lives here in this world!  It will never be a matter of “maybe this or that; what if this or that!  It will be the total and secure knowledge, solid and true, as to the “can’s” of life in this world!  We will know that we “can” be all that God has in His Will for us to accomplish and achieve.  He will guide us to the very things that “can” exceed our dreams and hopes within our spiritual selves.

The world (Satan) may have its way with our bodies and lives in general, but our souls, the spirit that exists within each one us as children of The One True Living God, will excel and live Eternally with all of our kindred spirits forever!  Each and every decision will not be an effort on our part to formulate it and then try to “sell” it to Jesus.  No!  We will consider and confirm the final decision of every choice that is meaningful to our “spiritual” lives WITH Jesus.  He will Bring ideas and opportunities to serve Him.  In doing so we enrich our spirits and live Eternal!

He will not deny us and our loved ones “our daily bread.”  He is as any Loving and Caring Parent…He Wants to Bless us with all the good things in this world we will ever need and can use!

Let each of us make our life a life of “can” and not “maybe or what if!”  Times are changing all around us and not one of us know how close this world is to His Return.  It could be before you finish reading this sentence or we will see Him as we draw our last worldly breath.  None of that matters.  What matters at this very moment is that we ask for our lives to exist within God’s Will and for Jesus to live within our lives moment to moment until He catches us up into the clouds to live with Him Forever!!!

May God’s Multitude of Blessings be upon each of you, my Brothers and Sisters in Christ!!!
