For so long, I believed that only my determined effort would satisfy God.  It would only be when I convinced Him of my “goodness” that I would make it to Heaven.  When I would “get in over my head” in life, I only knew to call on God.  It was years later that the relationship between Jesus and I began to develop.  I discovered that “knowing OF Jesus” definitely was not the same as “KNOWING Jesus!”  I now understand that Salvation is not earned – it is a Gift!

Because my father was a career Naval Aviator, I had the opportunity to live in several locations within the United States, as well as, the Navy base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.  Years later, as a U. S. Army pilot, I was stationed several places in the U.S., as well as in South Vietnam.  So being the only child in a military family, as well as serving in the military myself, gave me somewhat of a unique perspective on life both in and out of the United States.

Consistency in college was not one of my strong points.  I attended two universities and a junior college before dropping out of college to join the U.S. Army. I volunteered for Warrant Officer Helicopter Flight Training.  After receiving my Aviator Wings, I was transferred to Vietnam.  Based at Phouc Vinh, Vietnam, I had the rare privilege of proudly serving as a Scout Pilot with Charlie Troop, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry, 1st Air Cavalry Division.  While there, I crashed twice due to enemy ground fire.  The second time, my crew was killed.  I have never forgotten these two incredibly brave soldiers who flew with me on that last day. Years later, I traveled to the “Vietnam Wall” in Washington D.C. to acknowledge and reaffirm my love and respect for my two heroes.

A couple of years later I received a medical discharge from the Army. I returned to college and graduated with a Business degree. Once I finally earned my degree, I went to work in the civilian world.  My marketing and sales career lasted over thirty years.

My loving wife and I immensely enjoy nature photography. The Holy Spirit blesses us every time we look through our cameras at the beautiful creations of God’s Hand.  Likewise, when I sit at the computer keyboard, the writing does not begin until The Holy Spirit fills my soul with our Father’s Loving Words.

God has Blessed me with a truly wonderful family.  My loving wife and I have been married over forty years.  We are Blessed by having three beloved children, their wives and husband and nine beautiful grandchildren.  For these tremendous Gifts and Blessings, we give all Praise and all Glory to our Blessed Lord!!!

Our future is unknown except for Jesus – and that is enough for me!!!

Acts 20:24Acts 20:24
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the Grace of God. (Amen, Amen and Amen!!!)
